This trip is great for all ages. Starting in the beautiful old mining town of McCarthy, this river trip runs 54 miles through unmatched scenery close to Wrangell Saint Elias National Park, ending in the town of Chitina. Brown bears are commonly seen fishing and relaxing on the river's edge. Bison, moose, black bear and bald eagles can also be seen on this trip. Wolves are very timid, but their tracks are seen on beaches, and a sighting is possible. The three rivers go through two canyons with some
Class III water.
If time allows, it is possible to make this trip longer by continuing down the Copper RIver to Cordova.

Or, if hiking interests you, we can add a day or two to the itinerary to allow for more exploring.
