The Tazlina River is 46 miles long with class III whitewater. The put-in for the river requires a floatplane drop-off at Tazlina Lake. From the lake, rafters paddle to the head of the Tazlina River. The "Taz" is a fun, fast, three-day trip with wildlife and mountain views. During the King and Sockeye runs, this river has great fishing. There is also hiking potential in the upper stretches. The Taz flows through interior Alaska and can be blessed with clear and possibly warmer summer weather than coastal trips. The take-out is at mile 110 on the Richardson Highway.
